ABOUT PARKINSON'S
In 1817, Dr. James Parkinson first described Parkinson’s Disease in his essay, “A Shaking Palsy”. It is now recognized as one of the commonest neurological disorders to affect people over 55 years of age. VOLUNTEERING TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE
The Parkinson’s Society of Southern Alberta has dedicated volunteers who help make a difference in the lives of those living with Parkinson’s and their families. Their dedication enables us to become stronger and progress as a society.
Individuals assist with our special events such as SuperWalk for Parkinson’s and Tulip Golf Tournament. Volunteers contribute time and talent in areas that most interest them. Volunteer involvement can be as much or as little as you like. YOU decide what is best for yo

FOOD BANKS AND LIBRARIES, THE PERFECT TIME
The Perfect time to begin teaching your children,and their friends about charity, giving and community is at your child's Perfect Party. With your child, invite their guests to bring a can of food and a clean book to their Perfect Party. As the guests arrive, have your child place the cans of food and books in our HUGE GREEN PERFECT PARTY MEMORY BOX that we deliver all our Party Packs in. After the party , with your child ( VERY IMPORTANT ) deliver, in person the cans of food to your local Food Bank. .Next, off to your local library with the books ( A Perfect Time to get their library card if you have not done so) Keep YOUR Memory Box to store your many Perfect Party Baby Shower or Kid's Party Memories in.
